After more than a decade on the mic Sonia has mastered the art of turning everyday chaos into crowd-pleasing punchlines. As well as performing stand-up around the country, she’s hosted award nights, singles events and more.
Offstage, she’s put her screenwriting degree to good use crafting jokes for TV, scripted series and award shows. She’s also popped up on screen in ads and TV shows (yes that was her). When she’s not performing or writing she’s probably eavesdropping in a cafe for “research”.
WHAT I DO
STAND-UP COMEDY
With over 16 years of stand-up at comedy clubs, festivals and events Sonia is a seasoned comic who has made her mark on stages across the country. She has opened for Ronny Chieng, performed at Splendour in the Grass and appeared on the Roast of Tommy Little.
In 2017 she won the peer voted Spleen Comedian of The Year, in 2018 she began writing for some of the country’s top TV comedy shows and in 2025 she began performing stand-up in Italian!

WRITING
Sonia has a Masters in Screenwriting from the Victorian College of the Arts and her sharp joke writing skills have led to her writing for various network TV shows such as The Project, Sam Pang Tonight and The Logies.
She was also a writer for season 2 of the Screen Australia funded narrative Tik Tok series Justice and Crime.
